What gives with that?TheWiseWinkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05826340747426571060noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8968771305008031703.post-70521893591528955122017-02-06T05:28:44.641-08:002017-02-06T05:28:44.641-08:00Also not helping matters is that the 3D theatrical...Also not helping matters is that the 3D theatrical re-releases of "Beauty and the Beast" and "The Lion King" were essentially huge promotions for the DVD and Blu-Ray versions the way they were released so close to each other (Lion King's re-release was one month before the Blu-Ray combo packs were being set for release; while BatB's re-release came at a time [January 2012] when both Blu-Ray versions of the movie were already released).<br />This wasn't much different from when Disney re-released "The Little Mermaid" two decades ago - in November 1997 - as a limited outing, only for that film to be released 4 months later, in March 1998.AndrewVhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16658642696049084852noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8968771305008031703.post-10389593401674165002016-10-21T05:29:56.593-07:002016-10-21T05:29:56.593-07:00"Did a video release for the Walt Disney Mast..."Did a video release for the Walt Disney Masterpiece Collection follow in 1996? As much as I love 'Monsters, Inc.' and 'Finding Nemo', Disney should've just stuck with releasing Disney Animation films. 'Aladdin' and 'Tarzan' 3D re-releases would've been ideal, and I believe they would've been successful too! Not two more-recent Pixar titles that were available to own for years and years, titles that vaulted for very brief periods of time.Kyle Ohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10368946953946959139noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8968771305008031703.post-22062833917641464582016-04-02T20:06:16.530-07:002016-04-02T20:06:16.530-07:00Funny thing is that I do own a copy of the Widescr...Funny thing is that I do own a copy of the Widescreen Edition of Sleeping Beauty. Ironically they did attempt re-issuing disney films with the IMAX re-issues of Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King. And again in 2011 with the 3D re-releases but jumped the gun by hastily releasing Monsters Inc. in 3D rather than making the better move of re-releasing it closer to the spring to promote Monsters University.
